Noisey Premiere

Born out of an old warehouse studio in Cleveland Street, Sydney producer Elmntry threw together his Strangers EP in between sessions drinking, partying and squatting in Redfern earlier this year.

"Despicable debaucharies" is how the young producer describes it.

Combining elements of rap, grime and trap, the dark and odious mood of the EP was a result of the young producers life at the time. Unlike many local beat makers, Elmntry looked to shift away from an Australian sound and leans on a heavy grime sound while the deep vocal on "IDONTKNOWYU" is a straight "Word Up Detroit". Despite the dodgy origins Strangers contains some of the best Aussie beats we've heard in 2016.
